Traven Benner's passion is using creativity to solve problems and make beautiful things.
From an artistic family, Benner completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours at Queen's University in 2004. In 2005 he did a residency at the Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts and started to apprentice in jewellery design and goldsmith skills from his brother at Leif Benner Designer/Goldsmith in Toronto's Historic Distillery District. Traven's skill-set grew to include client consultation, gem selection, and metal-finishing, but he specialized in hand-carving detailed wax prototypes. In 2013, excited by the burgeoning technology of 3D printing, Benner trained as a 3D Designer specializing in Matrix software and REVO mill operation. Benner is also an experienced photographer. His editorial work has been featured in various publications as well as commercial photography for use on websites, catalogues and signage. Furthermore, Traven's fine art photography has found its way into exhibitions and private collections. Contributing to the growth of a small business inspired in Traven an entrepreneurial spirit and a keen interest for business development and promotion. Now based in Ottawa, Agile Arts is the culmination of years of experience, hard work and many, many cups of black coffee. No matter the type of project, Traven is at his best when formulating and employing creative solutions to whatever challenge is front of him. |
